In 2017 Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it was the top-streamed track in just the space of six months. It was a mixture of reggaeton, pop and rock did not just bring interest to reggaeton, but also attracted attention to Latin music generally. In 2015 there were only two predominantly Spanish-speaking songs in Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. In 2017, at the peak of the popularity of Despacito 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish have made it into the Top 100. By 2020 there will be 41 songs in this category. After Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, famous artists started to work with reggaeton musicians. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team on MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma. Madonna collaborated with Maluma for Medellin, 2019 The mainstreaming of reggaeton was an issue for certain performers in 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation were keen to keep the look. It was often associated with electronic dance and other forms.
