Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She's co-founder and director of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author TV personality, and the owner of the online, independent newspaper The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and immigrated to England at the age of sixteen. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with a MA in Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to hold the office of the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After when she graduated, she became an influential conservative journalist who was syndicated. In the years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political climate. Her popularity led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors to post their perspectives on news, politics and other topics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran as an independent candidate in the recall election in California to replace the then-Governor Davis. In addition to this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' list of most influential women in the media. At the time, Guardian listed her among the top 100 media personalities. The year 2011 saw AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media group which included many existing AOL brands too, like Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management advisor and journalist. She was very close with her father. However, it was her connection with her mother who shaped her. As early as her childhood, she displayed the ability to lead that is well-known. At the age of 16 beginning her education at the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of in the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the first woman to hold the position of the president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned master's degrees in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on a TV show. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his assistance in editing.
