April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball stars who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time in Tokyo's Olympics is hoping to secure her third gold medal. But more than that, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. As she is 39 and has a long way to go, this could be her last chance. However, she's confident that the top awards are within reach. Ross was quoted in NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very highest, and even perform well, you will win the gold. It's also going to be an issue of luck. Ross born in 1982 and was raised within Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began competing in athletics at the Newport Harbor High School. Along with participating in a variety of sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. In addition to the indoor game, she also ran track and basketball as a pre-collegiate athlete. But she stood out in this sport. In her high school volleyball career, according to her college biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. Her skills in volleyball earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman was already an established athlete on the beach even before the pair formed. It's true that she's had numerous big wins as well as one of her partners was an all-star volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be strong on the international circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 with each other. The pair eventually picked up a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team as well as Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she had retired. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross was a college player for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She played in high school, as well as before hitting the beaches as a professional. Her career was a success during her time in the NCAA tournament. She was an All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in the year 2000, a young freshman. The Trojans made it to the Final Four. After her sophomore year she was devastated by a personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. Through her two final seasons with the Trojans program, she coached them to a national title every year. She had established herself as an all-time legend having won the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross studied the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross did not get to witness her daughter's climb to the beach volleyball spotlight. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore at USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. Ross is still awed by her late parent. Margie is an inspiration on and off of the shore.
