Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington the city where she was born, she was the first actress to appear as a character in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. When she responded to a request for open auditions when she was nine years old, with no prior experience acting the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's part. Flora is the daughter of the Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple were relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century in an effort to arrange a marriage. When she was a teenager, her family moved from Canadian to United States. Paquin was cast as the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. She also played the lead role on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film that was released in that same year. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding as well as a small role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). She also portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
